Info about the mods installed on the server.
Minetest is a little weird in that the default setup tries to be as minimal as reasonably possible, with other functionality being added by mods.
So I started with a “game” (more-or-less a modpack intended to be reasonably complete) called Carbone. I have a bit of an old version at the moment, and I’ve modified it myself, so please don’t judge Carbone by my setup.
This server runs a couple custom mods. If you’re interested in any of these mods, ask me, I’ll send you the source under some sort of open-source license (IDK which one yet, if you have a preference let me know).
So I hacked bones out of Carbone for reasons I can’t remember. As a result, you don’t lose your inventory when you die. This mod fixes that bug.
So don’t jump into deep holes anymore.
We got annoyed that coins were useless, so I added some crafts for them.
(Note to self): Put here a description of what the crafts are.
Until then, take a look at the crafting guide.
We didn’t like how long night lasts in the game (it’s the same length as daytime by default), so this mod skips most of the night.
Below I’ve listed other mods of note. If you think I’m missing something, please let me know, I might add it.
It’s similar to Redstone in Minecraft.
Awesome mod with a bunch of items you might find in a house. I’m on a bit of an old version, so homedecor is probably more awesome now.
This is what powers the elevator thingies.
In case you want to protect areas, I have the areas mod installed.
Improved inventory mod. I installed it mainly because it has the crafting guide.
Simple mobs (creatures) mod. I chose this one because it had the least-ugly mobs I could find (ok, credit, my stepsister found it). I’m very open to switching to another mod if someone finds a better one.
I’ve modified it to remove the rat, to make the wolf peaceful, and to stop mobs from spawning too far underground.
